For the Expo, our themed gallery presentation, my project as a third year animation student was to do a character design of a creature being held in Area 51’s containment facility. I chose to create the intern who put a can of beans in the break room microwave and got put in the containment facility as punishment. For this project I started with the character design. I then asked a friend to act in my reference video I shot afterwards. I then animated on a free stock photo of a quarantine cell. A challenge for this project was finding a photo that would work for what I wanted to show. One thing I liked about how this project turned out is how smooth the animation is. I feel I got the body movements smooth enough for it to be pretty obvious of what is going on.
